
POLISHING PLATES
A
high precision polishing plate is attached to FiBO hardware via
a polishing plate interface.
- The polishing plate rotates around to precisely
position each fiber optic connector for measuring.
- No need to remove each connector, which saves
time and does not change the adapter's position.
- Polishing plates are custom-made for each polishing machine style (currently only machines with round style plates are supported).
CALIBRATION TARGETS
Calibration
targets set FiBO apart from the competition.
Each FiBO is shipped with three calibration targets that give the user the option to calibrate the FiBO system at any time.
The FiBO is a stable system and calibration is not required very often, but it may be necessary is certain cases such as after transportation or in the event of dramatic environmental changes.
- 2D
2-D calibration target consists of a target pattern mounted in a kinematic holder. The pattern is created using precision electron beam lithography technique that has an inherent 3 sigma lateral accuracy better than ±0.15 microns.
- 3D
3D target consists of a precision made plano-convex lens mounted in a kinematic holder.
- APEX OFFSET
The apex offset target is rotated three times on the FiBO and a measurement is taken at each position. FiBO Code software uses these measurements to calculate the average angular apex offset of a connector and the resulting value is then removed in subsequent apex offset measurements.
